a well needed trip
By marissa | February 20, 2006
This weekend I went back to my home away from home . . . Champaign. I spent the weekend with my friends who I missed so much. It was nice just to be me for awhile. Living at home sometimes I think that living at home, I forget who I really am. It was nice to be reminded of that. I visited the museum . It was great to see everyone and get caught up with life over there. Being there I thought more and more about how much I enjoyed working at a museum. Maybe I will more actively pursue a job in museums. Who knows! I just know that I was happy there and I did good work there.
Other things I learned on my trip were:
- The U.S. needs to come up with a way to eliminate semi-trucks from traveling on the road. They are becoming a danger to the American public driving on the road. I passed so many trucks on my way back home today it was insane. Then they decided to take over the road and not let anyone pass them. Trucks are bad.
- Curling is awesome! Growing up you think, what is this crazy sport on the winter Olympics, but it really is a game of strategy. It is also very addictive. If you haven’t caught a match yet, you should definitely check it out.
- Loaded Questions is a fun game that should be played with 6 people. It helps if some of those people are almost asleep and if it is played at the end of the night.
- Sometimes it is cheaper to get the parking ticket, then pay for the parking permit. I recommend it when you can make it happen.
- Life is 500 times better with friends.
