to buy or not to buy?

Every two years or so I get this feeling. It’s a feeling I can only describe as technology envy. I currently have an emachines laptop that only holds the battery charge for 45 min. 45 min, that’s it! This along with the incredibly long boot time and never turning off automatically make using the computer a little annoying. So I say to myself . . . should I buy a new computer. I love taking my laptop with me wherever I go and not having to devote a large space to my computer. I never think I will go back to a desktop. I just don’t know. Do I spend $800 or not?
